The Tampa Bay Buccaneers seem to have avoided the worst when it comes to one of their star wideouts.

Wide receiver Mike Evans is set to miss multiple weeks after suffering a hamstring injury in Sunday’s 29-27 win over the New York Jets, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported on Tuesday.

However, the Buccaneers are anticipating Evans to be out for only two to three weeks, per Rapoport, and an MRI revealed that the injury isn’t as severe as last year’s ailment that held him out for three games.

Evans exited Sunday’s game in the fourth quarter after pulling up and grabbing at his hamstring after a route. He limped off the field and was considered questionable to return.

He had four catches for 33 yards and a touchdown at that point in the game.

Evans, a six-time Pro Bowler, has 14 receptions for 140 yards and one touchdown this season. He has surpassed the 1,000-yard threshold in each of his 11 seasons in the NFL, all of which have been with the Buccaneers.
