Fresh off establishing themselves as one of the best defences in the NFL, the Denver Broncos are securing part of their core for the foreseeable future.

The Broncos have signed star edge rusher Nik Bonitto to a four-year extension worth up to $120 million, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Thursday.

According to Rapoport, the deal comes with $70 million guaranteed and has a base value of four years, $106 million.

Bonitto had a breakout third season in the NFL — his first full year as a starter — tallying a team-high 13.5 sacks along with 16 tackles for loss and 24 QB hits.

He finished ninth in Defensive Player of the Year voting, eventually losing to teammate Patrick Surtain II, and was named a second-team All-Pro.

The 25-year-old is the second edge rusher to pen a long-term deal with the Broncos this off-season after they signed fellow second-team All-Pro Zach Allen to a four-year, $102 million contract.

Bonitto was originally selected by the Broncos 64th overall in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft. He has 23 sacks, 30 tackles for loss and 47 QB hits over his three seasons in the NFL.

The Broncos open their season on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans.
