Netflix has not-so-quietly had another massive year in 2026, but that isn’t all that surprising considering the streamer has over 300 million subscribers. Netflix started the year strong with the highly anticipated crime thriller, The Rip, which features big names like Ben Affleck and Matt Damon. The film spent weeks at the top of streaming charts before it faded, but it didn’t take Netflix long to find its next big smash with War Machine. The ambitious sci-fi blockbuster features Alan Ritchson at the helm, who took a break from bashing skulls in Reacher to bring the fight to a giant robot in the Netflix original. After racking up 125.2 million views during its first month on the platform, War Machine had no trouble becoming the biggest Netflix movie of 2026, at least for now.
