Rakuten Wallet now supports XRP spot trading directly within its mobile application. Users can buy, sell, and hold XRP using a simplified interface.

The company confirmed that users can convert Rakuten loyalty points into XRP instantly. This feature connects digital assets with the existing rewards system.

Rakuten stated, “Users can seamlessly move from points to XRP without external transfers.” The integration removes friction between loyalty programs and cryptocurrency usage.

Furthermore, users can spend XRP at over five million merchant locations across Japan. Payments use QR codes through the Rakuten Pay network.

The platform connects XRP usage with 44 million active Rakuten Pay users. This linkage increases the asset’s exposure within a large retail environment.

Rakuten Wallet confirmed that the feature launched as an Android early release. The company also plans an iOS rollout in the near term.

Loyalty Points Conversion Drives XRP Utility

Rakuten’s ecosystem holds over three trillion loyalty points in circulation. This pool equals about $23 billion available for conversion into XRP.

Users can convert points into XRP and load them into digital wallets. They can then use these funds for real-world purchases.

Ripple’s development unit, RippleX, addressed the rollout in a statement. It said, “This marks one of the largest retail deployments of XRP to date.”

The integration connects cryptocurrency with everyday spending through a unified payment flow. It also reduces barriers between digital assets and consumer services.

Rakuten Wallet has launched a campaign to attract new users to XRP trading. Customers who buy ¥30,000 worth of XRP receive ¥500 in XRP rewards.

Users who purchase ¥100,000 or more receive ¥1,500 in XRP rewards. These incentives apply during the promotional campaign period.

The company delayed the XRP listing earlier but confirmed a smooth launch today. It also stated that system performance met operational expectations.
