James Gunn confirms Rachel Brosnahan’s Lois Lane role in Man of Tomorrow

James Gunn has officially confirmed the role of Rachel Brosnahan’s Lois Lane in his upcoming Superman film, Man of Tomorrow. During a Q&A on Threads, Gunn was asked, “James, how much of a role does Lois play in Man of Tomorrow?” He responded with a simple answer, saying, “She’s important.”

This comes after Gunn announced the film’s official title. Posting on Instagram, he shared the new title, Man of Tomorrow, alongside a striking illustration by DC Comics President Jim Lee. The artwork features Superman alongside his nemesis Lex Luthor, depicted in the green-and-purple armored suit. Gunn also revealed the film’s release date, captioning the post, “Man of Tomorrow. In theatres July 9, 2027.”

During another interaction on Threads, Gunn addressed questions about the film’s official title. When a fan asked whether it would be Superman: Man of Tomorrow or simply Man of Tomorrow, he confirmed, “Just Man of Tomorrow.” Earlier, he clarified that although the movie continues the Superman saga, it is not designed to serve as a direct follow-up to the 2025 Superman film.

Alongside Gunn’s announcement, the main cast has signaled their return. The movie will see David Corenswet returning as Clark Kent/Superman. Corenswet shared a similar Jim Lee artwork on Instagram, confirming the details of the upcoming sequel. Gunn also commented, “See you soon!!” on the actor’s post.

Meanwhile, Nicholas Hoult, who portrays Lex Luthor, also shared another artwork on social media, confirming his involvement. The director also commented on Hoult’s post, “See you on set in not too long!”
