The first season of Altered Carbon is a cyberpunk masterpiece, adapting Richard Morgan's complex book of the same name into a TV show that was gory, funny, surprising, and visually stunning, often within the same scene. The show's worldbuilding and character writing were excellent, and the attention to cultural detail made Altered Carbon one of the greatest cyberpunk TV shows of all time, with the Day of the Dead-focused episode "Force of Evil" being one of the single best sci-fi TV episodes that ever aired.
