US defence secretary Pete Hegseth was captured training with Marines in San Diego on Wednesday, but critics quickly noticed something off about the secretary’s stride.
In the clip, Marines jog around the track. But Hegseth? He lagged well — well — behind the pack, and some viewers quickly noticed.
“Where’s Pete? Oh there he is,” MeidasTouch editor-in-chief Ron Filipkowski wrote on X.
Multiple commenters also suggested Hegseth should add “no slowies” to his list of “no fatties, no trannies, no beardos, no weirdos, no wimps, no radicals, just warriors” in the military.
Hegseth has made a point of being filmed exercising with active-duty troops during his time as defence secretary.
Last week, he joined 600 active-duty troops for a training session ahead of his State of the Force address.
During Hegseth’s tenure, the Defence Department has also produced several military ads claiming to eliminate the “woke agenda.”
