Square Enix took to social media to explain the various frame rate, resolution, and town building limits for each Octopath Traveler 0 platform and, as expected, the Switch will feature the most fps, town, and resolution limits. However, the restrictions and options on other platforms remain rather similar. This comes after a character introduction earlier this week.
The Switch version of Octopath Traveler 0 will be the most restrictive when it comes to the maximum fps, resolution, and number of buildings you can place when restoring the destroyed hometown. It will only display at 720p, with the resolution top being 1280x720. It can also run at 30fps, and your town can have 250 structures in it.
Meanwhile, the Switch 2 and PS4 feature similar states. Both will be in 1080p, and they can hit 60fps. Each one also only will let us place 400 buildings in our towns. The Xbox Series X is similar, as it is restricted to 1080p, but it can get past the 60fps limit if you have 120 Hz support. That can also feature 500 buildings.
The PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC versions of Octopath Traveler 0 will feature the greatest range when it comes to resolution, fps, and town building limits. All three can have up to 500 structures placed in town. They can also all get up to 120fps, though a PC player can also opt for 30 or 60 if they prefer. All three are also the 4K display options, though the PC version can meet others depending on display while still showing 16:9 aspect ratio.
Here’s the official infographic Square Enix shared:

Octopath Traveler 0 will come to the Switch, Switch 2, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC on December 4, 2025.
