Nicole Kidman's Long-Awaited Fantasy Sequel Gets the Magical Update Fans Have Been Waiting For

Hold onto your broomsticks because things are officially lifting off for Practical Magic 2. Star Nicole Kidman confirmed on Instagram that the sequel to the 1998 whimsigoth contemporary fantasy has wrapped filming. She said in the caption, "That’s a wrap on #PracticalMagic2! Thank you to the cast & crew for all your magic ✨" accompanied by a video of her and Sandra Bullock walking through a field bathed in sunlight. Filming wraps just 5 days shy of a year out from the expected release date of September 18, 2026. The sequel is set to be based on The Book of Magic also by Practical Magic author Alice Hoffman. In addition to Kidman and Bullock, Stockard Channing and Dianne Wiestreturn for the sequel. Lee Pace (Foundation), Xolo Maridueña (Blue Beetle), Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones), and Solly McLeod (The Dead Don’t Hurt) are also a part of the sequel's cast.
