Ahead of the highly anticipated launch of Taylor Swift‘s next studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, a new report claims that the award-winning global popstar is currently producing a movie connected to the album. This comes after the theatrical and critical success of Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, which has become the highest-grossing concert film of all time with a worldwide gross of over $267 million at the box office. It also currently holds a Certified Fresh rating of 98% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 96 reviews.
When is the potential release date for the new Taylor Swift movie?
According to THR, the untitled Taylor Swift movie is reportedly being produced as a theatrical event. The outlet’s sources claimed that the movie could potentially premiere during the same weekend as The Life of a Showgirl’s launch on October 3. At the moment, further details about the movie’s content and creative team are still being kept under wraps.
The Life of a Showgirl will consist of 12 songs, including the title track featuring Sabrina Carpenter. Swift has written and co-produced the album with Swedish record producers Max Martin and Shellback, whom she previously worked with on her Reputation album in 2017. Shortly after announcing the album’s launch, Swift broke the internet once again by announcing her engagement to NFL player Travis Kelce.
Swift first gained recognition in 2006 when she launched her self-titled debut album, which landed the number five spot on the U.S. Billboard 200 album chart for 157 weeks. Since then, Swift has released multiple award-winning albums, like Fearless, Speak Now, Red, 1989, Reputation, Lover, Folklore, Evermore, Midnights, and The Tortured Poets Department. After nearly two decades, multiple awards, and countless hit songs, Swift has become a household name in the music industry and a worldwide sensation.
