New R-Rated Action Show Finally Dethrones Young Sherlock on Streaming

An R-rated action series has moved into the top spot on Amazon Prime Video, overtaking Young Sherlock after its recent run at first position. The change comes after the animated series returned with a new season, drawing increased viewership. 

Invincible takes the lead in streaming war against Young Sherlock

Invincible has moved ahead of Young Sherlock on Amazon Prime Video’s global charts, becoming the platform’s most-watched TV show as of March 22, 2026, according to FlixPatrol. The change marks a shift at the top of the platform’s rankings, with Young Sherlock moving into second place after leading the charts following its debut. 

The two shows continue to dominate the service’s viewership, outperforming several other prominent releases. This includes Fallout, Scarpetta, 56 Days, and Cross. The change showcases a growing surge in viewership for Invincible, which has regained momentum following the release of its latest season. 

Released in 2021, Invincible recently returned with its fourth season, with the first three episodes debuting on March 18, 2026. Meanwhile, additional episodes are scheduled for weekly release through April 22, 2026. The story centers on Mark Grayson, a teenager who develops superpowers while discovering the truth about his father, the powerful hero Omni-Man.

The series has also gained significant traction internationally, trending in 51 countries. It has also reached the top spot in 28 regions, including Australia, Brazil, and Ireland (via ScreenRant). The show’s latest season has been widely received, holding a 100 percent critics’ score and a 93 percent audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes. 

Meanwhile, Young Sherlock made its debut on March 4 with all eight episodes released at once and initially maintained the number one position for a sustained period. The series centers on a young Sherlock Holmes as he becomes involved in a murder investigation that develops into a broader international conspiracy. Featuring Hero Fiennes Tiffin, the show has received an 83 percent critics’ rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
