PS Plus discount

The PS4 PS Plus game Stardew Valley is currently free to own. However, it requires a bit of trickery to add the critically acclaimed to your library.

How to claim Stardew Valley on PS4 for free

As reported by Wario64 on BlueSky, this is not a limited PS Plus license for Stardew Valley. This will allow you to play the hit game even after your subscription expires. However, you’ll need a PS Plus subscription to pull off this trick.

Stardew Valley free to own – looks like you can just claim it for free on the PSN webstore/app after claiming it on PS+. No PS3/Vita required Honestly, I didn't check and wanted a reason to use my PS Vita today

All you need to do is first claim the PS4 version of Stardew Valley with your PS Plus subscription. If you’re having trouble finding the page, it can be found and claimed here. Then you’ll need to search for the game on the PSN webstore or PS App storefront, which should have the game free with its cross-buy functionality.

Wario64 said they can confirm the game is not tied to a PS Plus subscription after claiming the free PS4 version of Stardew Valley on PS Vita. So, this will allow you to continue playing the game after your subscription has expired, which is not true of the games typically offered with the service.

For those who somehow don’t know what Stardew Valley is, it is a cozy farming/life sim developed by ConcernedApe. Arguably, it helped popularize the “cozy game” genre, which is now extremely prevalent. When the game first launched in 2016, it was met with favorable reviews. According to the review aggregate site Metacritic, it garnered an average score of 89 across 30 critic reviews. It is essentially available to play anywhere, including mobile platforms.

In our review of Stardew Valley, we gave the game a 9 out of 10.

“Stardew Valley is a game so completely full of content, that it is hard to fathom that it was created by a single person,” reads our review.” With a ton of secrets to discover, and fishing, farming, mining, smelting, and even dating as activity options, this feels like a perfect mix of life simulation games of the past, with a decidedly modern take.”
