Judge Sullivan on Wednesday denied Lindsay Clancy’s request for a hearing about the lone holdout juror.

Clancy’s attorney, Kevin Reddington, requested a hearing on how the lone juror, identified as Michael Desronvil, filled out his juror questionnaire.

Lindsay Clancy used exercise bands to strangle her three children to death in January 2023 after she sent her husband out of the house on errands.

Judge Sullivan last month declared a mistrial after the jury was deadlocked because Michael Desronvil refused to buckle under pressure.

Kevin Reddington accused Michael Desronvil of lying under oath about his past legal and financial issues.

Lindsay Clancy’s next court appearance is set for November 2.

Clancy remains charged with first-degree murder after a judge declared a mistrial.

It is unclear if prosecutors plan to retry the case.

Lindsay Clancy’s request for an evidentiary hearing regarding the one juror who caused her recent mistrial was denied on Wednesday in a court decision that referenced precedent set after Karen Read’s mistrial.

Clancy’s attorney, Kevin Reddington, had requested the hearing to discuss how the juror filled out his questionnaire and whether he used his phone during deliberations.

Clancy’s attorney said all jurors except the holdout were prepared to find her not guilty of killing her three young children.

In Wednesday’s decision, Judge William Sullivan wrote that “further judicial inquiry is inappropriate, given the mandate that the court must not delve into a juror’s subjective reasoning, thought process, view of the case, or relationship to other jurors, and must not inquire into the jury’s deliberative content, collective thought process, or any disagreement among the jury.”

Sullivan’s decision specifically references the Supreme Judicial Court’s ruling after the mistrial in Karen Read’s high-profile murder trial.
