Marvel fans got another look at Avengers: Doomsday through promo art that surfaced online over the weekend. The poster pulls together legacy X-Men actors and Chris Hemsworth’s Thor in a single frame, teasing the massive crossover heading to theaters this December.

The Avengers: Doomsday’s poster places a menacing Doctor Doom in the background while a row of mutants fills the lower half. Patrick Stewart’s Professor X, Ian McKellen’s Magneto, James Marsden’s Cyclops, and Channing Tatum’s Gambit all appear. Beast and Nightcrawler join them too, which is the first official promotional appearance for both characters outside of leaked Sentinel footage.

Alan Cumming has not played Nightcrawler since 2003’s X2, making his inclusion a notable throwback. Kelsey Grammer returned briefly as Beast in a post-credits scene for The Marvels, but Doomsday gives him a proper role in the main ensemble.

Thor sits high on the right side of the poster, visually confirming that the God of Thunder will fight alongside the X-Men against Downey Jr.’s villain. The Avengers logo anchors the bottom, tying the mutant roster directly to the larger MCU event.

Marvel has also released the official Special Look that debuted at D23 on Friday. Downey Jr., Chris Evans, and Hayley Atwell presented the trailer during the convention. The two-minute trailer digs deeper into Doctor Doom’s rise, with Vanessa Kirby’s Sue Storm describing him as “lost” and “broken.” A later sequence shows Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards confronting Doom in a ruined place.

Some viewers have questioned whether Downey Jr. actually appears behind the mask in every scene. Close-ups reveal blue-green eyes and a small mole near one eye, details that clash with the actor’s brown eyes. Fans have speculated about Doctor Doom duplicates, though Marvel has not commented on those theories.

The trailer also shows Doom hurling Thor like a ragdoll and commanding an army of Sentinels. That image of mutant-hunting machines under Doom’s control raises the stakes for the X-Men, who already have decades of history fighting those robots.

Avengers: Doomsday is releasing in theaters on December 18.
