Streaming wars once relied on exclusivity to drive subscriber growth. Every streaming service tried to upstage competitors, but after several years, it became clear the model was unsustainable. Subscribers weren't willing to pay for multiple streaming services, and those who were canceled a service once their favorite show was over. Streamers tried other methods to stay afloat, and some never did, effectively shuttering after bleeding cash. Then came the era of bundling, which was followed by licensing agreements.
