Ridesharing apps are a dime a dozen now, but at one time, there was only Uber. A more efficient option compared to cabs, Uber rose with the leadership of Travis Kalanick, the CEO and co-founder of the company. This is the basis of Showtime’s limited series, Super Pumped, which premiered in 2022. Based on the non-fiction book "The Battle For Uber," written by Mike Isaac, the series chronicled the rise and fall of the infamous CEO, portrayed by Joseph Gordon-Levitt. In a series of seven episodes, the Showtime series depicts Kalanick’s initial idea that was nearly destroyed by his business practices.
