Monster Hunter Stories 3 Free Update Adds Royal Monsters

Capcom confirmed two Monster Hunter Stories 3 additions are on the way, with Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto bringing up a free Royal Monsters update and paid Additional Side Story: Rudy DLC in a new video. There are no release dates for either addition or trailers showing what we can expect. However, he did mention both are in the works and touched on what to expect from them.

In the case of the Royal Monsters, they will be designed to be a type of endgame encounter in Monster Hunter Stories 3. After the patch arrives, they’ll show up wandering around different areas. Tsujimoto specifically noted that someone would need to be at minimum level 90 to properly handle those fights. He didn’t mention if there will be special drops or rewards for taking on those encounters.

In the case of Additional Side Story: Rudy, Ryozo Tsujimoto didn’t share as much information on that Monster Hunter Stories 3 DLC storyline. He only noted the team is working on it and will share updates when it is closer to being ready to launch.

At the moment, all of the DLC available for the game is cosmetic. That means you can get monster-inspired hairstyles for your avatar, Layered Armors for companions, and outfits for Rudy. 

Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection is on the Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, a demo is available, and the free Royal Monsters update and paid Additional Side Story: Rudy DLC are in the works.
