If you love getting McDonald’s delivered to your front door, we’ve got some bad news.

The fast food chain has confirmed it’s making some major changes to its delivery menu, with several staples being axed.

This will include items such as the classic hamburger, as well as small portions of fries, small drinks, and more.

These changes will apply to all McDelivery orders via the McDonald’s app, Deliveroo, Just Eat, and Uber Eats.

What’s leaving the delivery menu at McDonald’s?

From Tuesday, July 14, the following items are being axed from McDelivery:

Hamburger Small Fries Porridge All Mini McFlurry variants All Small Soft Drinks All Small Milkshakes Chicken Salad and Chicken & Bacon Salad Side Salad

The items will still be available on the in-store menu as usual, so you can still order them to eat in and take away at restaurants.

Why are these items being axed?

A McDonald’s UK spokesperson told Metro: ‘As part of our continued menu evolution, we regularly listen to customer feedback and review sales data.

‘As a result, we’ve made the decision to remove certain items from our delivery menu. These changes will also help our teams to provide a better experience, focusing on the products we know our customers love ordering most via delivery.

‘While these menu items will still be available in restaurants, we understand the change to delivery may be disappointing for some; however, every menu decision is carefully considered.’

Online, some have already shared their upset over the changes in response to a post by @uknewestfoods, with many saying they’ll miss the smaller portion sizes.

‘American sizes only,’ wrote @lucedickson on Instagram. ‘I love the mini McFlurry; the normal one is too much.’

For @pm190283, it was the hamburger loss that they’d miss, saying: ‘Awesome, so you will now pay for a cheeseburger and remove the cheese, but no discount for not having cheese anymore.’

Others pointed out McDonald’s was being ‘crafty’ with these changes, as  @tdrury9423 claimed: ‘This is very crafty! Means you have to buy a higher-priced item off the menu to get a delivery now.’

Similarly, @haynes.1515 shared: ‘So remove the cheapest items so you can only buy the more expensive items… great choice for the customer.’

This comes as McDonald’s is also about to switch up its regular menu, bringing in some new limited-edition items.

The World Cup specials will be leaving the menu, making way for a new Hot Honey range.

This includes a new Hot Honey Dip, with the sweet and spicy sauce featuring in a Hot Honey Sausage & Egg McMuffin, a Hot Honey version of the McCrispy, and Mozzarella Dippers.

There are also some other new items, including a Ranch Dip and Korean BBQ.

The Big Arch has also had a glow-up, with a new Bacon version joining the menu, and if that weren’t enough, the Cornetto McFlurry has returned to the menu for the first time in 17 years.

There are two to choose from – the Clasico which is made up of soft dairy ice cream swirled with chocolate sauce and topped with chocolate Cornetto cone pieces, and the Strawberry, which has strawberry sauce and strawberry Cornetto cone pieces.

All of these items will be available from July 14.
