Maria Connor bursts into tears as she struggles to cope with son Liam’s ordeal in Coronation Street

MARIA Connor will be left on the edge in upcoming Coronation Street scenes as she struggles to cope in the aftermath of Liam’s bullying ordeal.

The hairdresser has taken time off work after being left harrowingly worried by her son Liam’s suicidal ideation.

Having been bullied by the evil Mason Radcliffe and the complicit Dylan Wilson, Liam was driven to breaking point and was left contemplating whether he should end his life.

Maria and partner Gary have been keeping him on close guard amid worries for his future and his own safety.

Soon things will become too much for Maria to cope with as she struggles to cope after she is forced to begin to let go of the control she has over her son.

Having made the decision to home-school the lad, Maria has not been earning any cash in her all-important role of hairdresser.

Maria soon becomes concerned as it becomes clear that Audrey is planning to replace her in her job if she does not make a return soon.

Unable to comprehend leaving Liam, Maria decides that she will return to work but only if Gary homeschools Liam instead of her.

However, it soon becomes clear that Maria has another way to watch Liam up her sleeve.

Alone, Maria whips out a box from her bag after deciding to buy a hidden camera to spy on Liam and Gary whilst she’s at work.

The next day, as Maria settles back into the salon, she discusses hairstyle options with a blushing bride.

With Audrey muscling in on the conversation, Maria uses the opportunity to take a look at an app on her phone which is linked to the hidden camera.

Later, during her appointment, she swipes a quick glance and worries when Liam has disappeared to the bathroom.

Attempting to dismiss it, she carries on with the hair but when he still has not returned when she next checks in, Maria begins to flap.

She storms out of the salon in panic and heads to the flat.

But will Liam be okay or is he in harm’s way?

Feeling under pressure, Maria breaks down in tears and is left bawling in the arms of Audrey as she opens up on her anxieties surrounding Liam.
