Coronation Street has finally confirmed which local villain has hit the end of the road – but that doesn’t mean that Maggie Driscoll (Pauline McLynn) is completely out of the woods…

Maggie was in the frame to be killed off in Corrie’s first flash forward storyline, alongside Theo Silverton (James Cartwright), Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard), Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances-Brown) and Megan Walsh (Beth Nixon).

In tonight’s episode, it was finally revealed that Theo was the one to have been killed, after months spent terrorising husband Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce).

However, Maggie is also in a worrying position, having been left for dead after a showdown with Megan.

Megan and Maggie have been at each other’s throats this week, and the tension between them reached fever pitch.

Maggie has been determined to see Megan face justice for her grooming of Will Driscoll (Lucas Hodgson-Wale), but Megan has so far managed to wriggle out of taking any responsibility.

To make matters even worse, Megan overheard a conversation between Maggie and Melanie and learnt the truth about the death of Maggie’s husband.

Viewers may recall the flashback episode that aired last year, which revealed that Maggie had pushed him down the stairs.

‘It was a tragic accident when Maggie’s husband fell so tragically down the stairs and died [laughs],’ actress Pauline McLynn said.

‘The line had been put in you know, “I can, I’ve done it before”. At this stage, I don’t mind if people do think it’s murder. She’s so far put to the pin of her collar, why not?’

However, it seems that Maggie may have got a taste of her own medicine, as we last saw her lying motionless below the balcony, where she and Megan had been arguing.

FROM ITV STRICT EMBARGO - No Use Before 2000hrs Monday 13th April 2026 Coronation Street - Week 18 Coronation Street has unveiled a killer new promo as the countdown begins to the murder of one of Weatherfield???s villainous residents. Since the reveal of the identities of the possible murder victims in February, each of them has turned more towards the dark side, giving many reasons why someone would want them dead. But who will breathe their last on the night of Carla Connor and Lisa Swain???s wedding, and who will be left with blood on their hands? The haunting promo sees Theo Silverton, Carl Webster, Jodie Ramsey, Megan Walsh and Maggie Driscoll dressed in funeral attire as they join together to walk down the famous cobbles. They turn the corner into Rosamund Street and are met by none other than funeral director George Shuttleworth in front of a hearse. As he turns to look at the five villains he holds up a funeral wreath in the shape of a question mark. Across five nights later this month viewers will revisit the same day but each episode will be seen from the perspective of a different potential victim. At the end of the week Betsy Swain will find one of them dead and the hunt to find the killer will begin. Is Maggie also dead? (Picture: ITV)

Is she set to be another victim? Is Megan to blame? Could Corrie be giving us a massive twist by killing off two of their villains and making another a killer?

Pauline herself previously suggested that this could be the case.

‘When I joined the show, I was told that the plan for the character was to kill her,’ she said, adding: ‘I think you’ll find when you watch all of the five stories that it’s very possible more than one person is dead, that’s another thing I will say.

‘And the third thing, is that the wonderful Kate Brooks said to me once, you’re going to get a set of scripts and it looks like you’re dead – and you might be. I just wanted to warn you! We don’t know.’
