Luke Shaw says he’s ‘really looking forward’ to playing with one of Manchester United’s summer signings, urging Ruben Amorim to put him in the starting XI.
Following one of the worst seasons in their history, there has been a great deal of change at United over the summer, with nine senior players departing and five new faces through the door at a cost of £217million.
Senne Lammens signed from Royal Antwerp for £18m on deadline day andis expected to become the new No.1 goalkeeper after Andre Onana was loaned out to Trabzonspor.
However, Amorim has confirmed that the Belgian will not make his debut in Sunday’s huge derby clash against Manchester City, with Altay Bayindir to start despite a number of howlers this season.
But Shaw says he likes what he sees from the new keeper and has suggested it would best to get him in the line-up as soon as possible to help the chemistry of the team.

‘I think us as players, it’s really important to help settle in new players,’ the England defender, now in his 11th year at Old Trafford, told Sky Sports.
‘He [Lammens] has been really good. He’s trained a couple of days, looks really sharp. I’ve been really impressed with him.

‘That’s good. It’s always good to have new additions and I’m really looking forward to playing with him.
‘I think it’s always important to have relationships on the pitch, not just with the keeper but the ones in front of us as well. I think you have to form and build important relationships and I wouldn’t just pick out the goalkeeper but it’s important to have relationships with everyone on the pitch.’
Shaw is expected to start the Manchester derby but one player who will miss out is Matheus Cunha after he was injured in the last game against Burnley.

The £62.5m summer signing from Wolves had enjoyed a bright start to lifewith the Red Devils, with Shaw praising the ‘good energy’ the forward has brought to the dressing room.
‘I love him, he’s such a good guy, really happy, always joking about and he’s slotted in perfectly,’ the 30-year-old added.
‘But not just him of course, the others as well. Big credit to the manager and his staff around him. He’s not only brought in amazing players, he’s also brought in good lads that all have the same mindset of wanting to win.’
