Lucki Injured in ComplexCon Altercation With Playboi Carti Present

Rapper Lucki sustained a laceration to his neck and face during a violent altercation at ComplexCon in Los Angeles on Saturday afternoon, October 3, 2026. The incident occurred while fellow artist Playboi Carti, who is serving as a co-artistic director for the festival’s 10th-anniversary event, was present at the scene.

The Los Angeles Police Department reported that the brawl took place around 4:40 p.m. in a parking lot area of the venue. Authorities identified four victims in total resulting from the clash. While three individuals were listed in stable condition, one victim—identified by various reports as Lucki—self-transported to a local hospital for medical attention. Footage from the scene showed Playboi Carti standing near a vehicle while the surrounding conflict unfolded, though he did not appear to be directly involved in the physical exchange.

The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon during the festival's 10th-anniversary celebration.

Conflicting Reports on Injuries and Medical Status

While official police accounts described the injuries broadly, specific details regarding Lucki’s condition have varied across reporting outlets. Initial accounts stated the rapper was struck by an unknown suspect, resulting in a significant laceration. However, some hip-hop media outlets have characterized the injury as a stabbing. Despite the severity of the reports, Lucki reportedly sent a direct message to fans via Instagram shortly after the incident stating, “I’m good,” in an effort to de-escalate concerns regarding his health.

The violence marks a significant security breach for ComplexCon 2026, an event intended to celebrate the intersection of street culture, fashion, and music. The irony of the situation was noted by attendees, as Playboi Carti holds a leadership role as a co-artistic director for this year’s festivities, which are scheduled to conclude with his headlining performance on Sunday night.

History of Tension Between Camps

The physical confrontation follows a documented history of friction between Lucki and Playboi Carti’s respective circles. The two rappers were involved in a social media dispute in 2024 centered around a “Crossed up” chain, which sparked a public exchange of words at the time. This prior tension has led to speculation that the Saturday afternoon brawl may have been a culmination of long-standing grievances between the two entourages.

Security measures at the Los Angeles Convention Center are expected to be under heavy scrutiny as the festival enters its final day.
