Loretta Lynn’s landmark 2004 album, Van Lear Rose, is scheduled for a comprehensive digital and physical return on November 13, 2026. The reissue, handled by Jack White’s Third Man Records, restores the genre-blurring masterpiece to streaming platforms and introduces previously unreleased material from the original recording sessions.

As a preview of the upcoming release, the single “Miss Being Mrs.” is currently available to stream on digital services. The full album return marks a significant restoration for Lynn’s late-career classic, which earned two Grammy Awards, including Best Country Album and Best Country Collaboration with Vocals for the duet “Portland, Oregon” featuring Jack White.

Expanded Content and Analog Remastering

The 2026 reissue has been remastered directly from the original analog tapes, aiming to preserve the raw, garage-rock-influenced country sound that defined the original collaboration between Lynn and White. This version also includes “Just to Have You Back,” a previously unreleased outtake.

Patsy Russell, daughter of the late country icon, expressed the family’s enthusiasm for the project, stating it was an “incredible honor” to work with the Third Man Records team on the re-release. The partnership highlights the enduring legacy of the album, which saw the Coal Miner’s Daughter experiment with a more aggressive, stripped-back sound late in her storied career.

Physical Formats and Vinyl Variants

In addition to its return to digital service providers, Third Man Records is producing several physical editions of the album. These include a standard compact disc and a traditional black vinyl pressing. Collectors will also have access to a limited-edition “Excellente Orange” vinyl variant.

The expanded tracklist and technical upgrades are intended to provide a definitive version of the record, which remains one of the most critically acclaimed entries in Lynn’s discography. By sourcing the audio from the original tapes, the reissue seeks to capture the specific sonic textures created during the sessions more than two decades ago.
