One of HBO’s critically acclaimed TV shows is finally returning today, featuring Friends alum Lisa Kudrow. The first episode of The Comeback Season 3 officially debuts tonight at 10:30 p.m. ET on HBO and will be available to stream on HBO Max. New episodes of the final installment will be released weekly, leading up to the series finale on Sunday, May 10.
What do we know about Lisa Kudrow’s The Comeback Season 3?
The Comeback Season 3 will feature Kudrow reprising her award-winning role as Valerie Cherish, twenty years after the show concluded its second season. In the final installment, Valerie is set to star in her first sitcom, which is written by artificial intelligence. Ahead of its premiere, Season 3 has already garnered an approval rating of 89% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 9 reviews.
The Comeback was created by Michael Patrick King and Kudrow, who are executive producing alongside John Melfi and Dan Bucatinsky. The comedy gave viewers a satirical look into the entertainment television industry. The Season 3 cast also includes Dan Bucatinsky, Laura Silverman, Damian Young, Tim Bagley, Matt Cook, Jack O’Brien, Ella Stiller, John Early, Barry Shabaka Henley, Abbi Jacobson, Tony Macht, Brittany O’Grady, Zane Phillips, Julian Stern, and Andrew Scott.
Before The Comeback Season 3, Kudrow’s most recent TV projects were Apple TV’s fantasy show Time Bandits and Netflix’s black comedy series No Good Deed, which both premiered in 2024. Last year, she starred in HBO Max’s horror comedy movie The Parenting with Edie Falco, Brian Cox, and Parker Posey. Kudrow is currently attached to reprise her iconic role in the untitled sequel of the cult classic comedy film Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion.
