Lewis Capaldi ‘confirms’ Glastonbury secret set with heartbreaking comeback song

Speculation has been rife for weeks that Lewis Capaldi is set to make a huge comeback at Glastonbury 2025 – and now, we might have proof that the rumours are true.

Earlier this month, it was claimed that the Someone You Loved hitmaker would be returning to Worthy Farm with a surprise set, having spent the last two years out of the spotlight, focusing on his physical and mental health.

It would be a real full-circle moment for Lewis, who had to fight through tears to finish his set in 2023, relying on the crowd’s singing due to vocal issues and a Tourette’s flare-up.

At the time, he apologised and admitted he felt ‘annoyed’ with himself, later making the ‘most difficult decision’ to retreat from public life and ‘adjust’ to the impact Tourette’s was having.

But for those who have really felt the Lewis-shaped hole in their lives ever since, these billboards look to be confirmation that he’s ready to return to the music scene and, let’s face it, the charts.

Ahead of Glasto kicking off, unexplained signs have started to appear.

On a white background, the red text reads: ‘I’ve had my share of Monday mornings when I can’t get up.’

The line appears to be a rather honest and raw song lyric, with a phone number following on the banners, which people are encouraged to text.

Doing so will see you receive a message containing another line from the tune.

‘I’m gonna get up and live until the day that I die,’ it says.

But that’s not all, as a third lyric has appeared on a billboard beyond Glasto, reading: ‘Most nights I fear that I’m not enough’, as shared by fans online.

Little else is known about Lewis’s rumoured comeback tune, but it is believed to be titled Survive, a rather fitting name given his tumultuous past few years.

Fans on social media are also extremely hyped, with some Down Under claiming to have already heard the song ahead of its official release, thanks to time differences.

‘omg lewis capaldi is back’, wrote @Jacqui_Watters, who later explained to someone asking how they had the song downloaded: ‘it comes out at midnight local time! it’s past midnight in australia!’

‘if all the lewis capaldi rumors are true i am about to become the most insufferable person ever’, tweeted superfan @halos_home.

‘Lewis Capaldi what a move… you legend! Welcome back with open arms, I’ve missed you more than you’ll ever know’, declared @georgiacookee.

The beloved Scottish pop star is looking likely to perform his latest single – his first release since Strangers and A Cure For Minds Unwell last January – for the first time on Friday.

Sources claim he’ll be walking out onto the Pyramid Stage, with the ‘secret slot’ scheduled between Alanis Morrisette (finishing at 7:15pm) and Biffy Clyro (starting at 8:15pm).

As revellers began arriving at the Farm this week, one insider told The Sun: ‘Lewis took a decent chunk of time away, and now he’s ready for his fans to hear what he has been working on.

‘Tomorrow is a huge day for him. He will be releasing a brand new single, and it is his Pyramid Stage performance.

‘He is in a great place and feels ready to come back into the spotlight.’

After lying low for a while, in recent months, Lewis has been spotted publicly several times in recent months.

Last summer, he put in a low-key appearance at Glastonbury, watching Dua Lipa’s headline set with pals.

Then, last month, Lewis gave his first live performance since embarking on a brief hiatus.

In an unexpected but pleasant moment, he showed up as a surprise guest at Tom Walker’s show for Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), which works in suicide prevention, at Assembly Halls in Edinburgh.

Lewis sang six songs, with fans present later saying on social media that it was ‘the best thing ever’ to see him.

If Lewis does show up at Glastonbury, where The 1975, Olivia Rodrigo, and Neil Young are headlining, he’ll join other rumoured secret performers Haim and Pulp.

Sir Rod Stewart will perform in the coveted Legends Slot.
