Lawmakers Summon National Guard To Stop Chicago Violence(2010)

A surge in Chicago gun violence led two Illinois state representatives to request that the National Guard help fight violent crime in the city. Critics call the plea misguided, but others argue that the Guard could help control the stem the wave of killings.
