DS Thea Ramsden (Chelsea Edge) has spied an opportunity to destroy Kim Tate (Claire King) in Emmerdale.
The copper, introduced to us shortly after Dr Caitlin Todd (Caroline Harker) died, has some sort of connection to the Tates.
Over the past few weeks, Ramsden has been getting Serena Sugden (Casey Al-Shaqsy) to break into Home Farm to try and find something she can use to see an end to Kim.
A few days ago, Thea returned to the village to investigate the crash Jimmy King (Nick Miles) was responsible for.
The collision saw Jimmy die in the middle of the wreckage, while Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) lost her life in hospital after giving birth to her baby son.
When Ramsden arrived at the scene, it was quickly established that Jimmy had swerved his car to avoid hitting someone. But who? The fact that Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) was near the field left fans convinced that she was driving the car that Jimmy missed, but Thea is ready to put the blame on someone else.
During today’s episode, the detective was updating Serena about the case.
Ramsden revealed that she has knowledge that a car was driving recklessly though Hotten right before the crash. And who was behind the wheel of the car?
Kim Tate.
All Thea needs to do is find enough evidence that puts Kim close to the scene of the accident, then she can bring her in for questioning. Ramsden told her pal that regardless of the truth, she fully intends to frame Kim for the crash.
The exact connection between Thea and the Tates hasn’t been revealed just yet, but the fact that this new face is so hellbent on seeing an end to Kim suggests that the secrets she’s hiding are pretty big.
How much will things change once we learn the truth about Ramsden?
