DS Thea Ramsden (Chelsea Edge) shared an update about Vinny Dingle’s (Bradley Johnson) involvement in Jimmy King (Nick Miles) and Dawn Taylor’s (Olivia Bromley) deaths in Emmerdale today, and it was bad news.
It was revealed a few weeks ago that Vinny was driving the car that Jimmy swerved prior to the crash. Vinny was on the phone to Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) while driving and because he was distracted, he failed to realise that his car was moving across the road.
Vinny kept this a secret, but his guilt eventually became too much to deal with. He confessed to Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) and then Joe Tate (Ned Porteous).
Nicola reacted to the news by calling the police and reporting Vinny, while Joe immediately told Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle), knowing that he’d attack Vinny in the aftermath.
Vinny has now accepted that he is probably going to go to prison for a very long time.
There was more bad news in tonight’s episode, as Thea shared an update with Kim about the CPS’s decision.
The detective explained that the CPS will charge Vinny with Jimmy’s death, but not Dawn’s. The news left Kim fearful, knowing that it will have a negative impact on an already deeply troubled Joe Tate (Ned Porteous).
Vinny is utterly terrified about his future and needs all the support he can get, but discovered earlier this week that the man he loves isn’t going to be there for him.
Lewis Barton (Bradley Riches) broke up with Vinny on Monday, explaining that he couldn’t support the man who took Jimmy from Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler).
Amid the rumours that Bradley Johnson is leaving the ITV soap as Vinny, it seems the character is going to get sent behind bars.
Or is another twist on the way?
