John Turturro Struggles to Make a Career Out of Pickpocketing in New Trailer With Giancarlo Esposito

John Turturro’s latest movie with Giancarlo Esposito just released its new trailer. In the new trailer for the crime thriller, Turturro plays an aging pickpocket struggling to make ends meet in an increasingly digital New York, not growing any younger with each passing day.       

Written and directed by Noah Segan, The Only Living Pickpocket in New York is about Harry Lehman (played by Turturro), who is an aging pickpocket who plies his trade with ever-diminishing returns in a drastically changed New York. With the ever-advancing technology taking over to replace wallets stuffed with cash with easily cancelled credit cards, he struggles to make ends meet while caring for his disabled wife, Rosie.

What do we see in The Only Living Pickpocket in New York trailer with John Turturro?

In the trailer for The Only Living Pickpocket in New York, Turturro’s Harry is seen playing his fading trade on the streets and subways of New York City as he tries to lift traditional valuables while struggling in the digital world.

At one point in the trailer, Harry accidentally steals a high-stakes, valuable USB drive from the wrong person, setting off a race against time. This is followed by scenes that show him in a frantic race against time to return the mysterious loot before the crime family catches up to him and harms his loved ones.

The movie also stars Esposito as Detective Allan Warren, alongside a stacked supporting cast including major names like Steve Buscemi, Tatiana Maslany, Victoria Moroles, Will Price, and Jamie Lee Curtis.

The Only Living Pickpocket in New York is set to open in limited theaters in New York and Los Angeles on October 23, 2026, before expanding nationwide on October 30, 2026.
