Jim Carrey’s Jetsons movie has recently received a disappointing release date update. Along with it, several other movies will also face a similar fate.

In a recent announcement, Warner Bros. revealed its upcoming projects in the next couple of years. They detailed that beyond 2027, the studio will “continue to leverage iconic intellectual property.” These included projects like Aegon’s Conquest, which is a Game of Thrones spin-off. It will serve as the prequel to House of the Dragon. Next up, the report mentioned a Jetsons movie, The Matrix 5, which includes Jim Carrey as a cast member, and Batman II.

However, for all of these projects, fans should not expect a release date anytime soon. According to the letter, Warner Bros. has confirmed it won’t debut these projects before 2028. This would come as bad news for the fans. Until now, only the Batman movie had a 2028 release confirmed. Fans hoped that some of the listed movies would be released before 2028, which will not be the case now.

What else do we know about Jim Carrey’s live-action Jetsons movie?

As of now, there is not much official news available about Carrey’s live-action Jetsons movie. Back in 2025, reports emerged that Carrey was pushing hard to get a lead role in the project. While Warner Bros. had already confirmed the same, no other involvement has been listed.

There were also speculations that Joe Epstein and Colin Trevorrow were co-writing the script. Meanwhile, the plot of the movie is expected to revolve around the Jetsons Family, as shown in the cartoon. In the animated sitcom from the 1960s, the Jetson Family has been shown to thrive in a futuristic world.

Interestingly, this particular show was developed as a futuristic version of The Flintstones. While the characters of The Flintstones barely had access to any technology in the Stone Age, the Jetsons’ lifestyle was a complete contrast.
