Jeremy Clarkson’s hugely popular TV show Clarkson’s Farm could be set for some tough competition – from his girlfriend.

Lisa Hogan has announced her own programme that essentially combines the farming elements of Amazon Prime’s Clarkson’s Farm – which drops its fifth season in June – with the matchmaking of Love Island.

Named Farming for Love and based on Farmer Wants a Wife from an original idea by the UK’s Country Living magazine, it will follow a group of single farmers as they search for The One.

While a somewhat unconventional format for a reality dating show, it’s already proven successful, having aired in more than 34 territories worldwide, and this year, it celebrates its 25th anniversary. Over this time, it has led to more than 250 marriages and the arrival of over 600 babies.

Of course, the show will be set against the backdrop of rural Britain as the farmers invite potential partners to live and work alongside them.

While the couples test their compatibility and navigate the world of modern dating, the show will also offer an authentic look at the realities of farming life, with cameras following their everyday lives.

As for Lisa’s involvement, think of her as the Maya Jama of it all, as she brings her straight-talking honesty and humour to the role, as well as her wealth of experience in the farming industry.

So, who are the eligible farmers hoping to find a match? Let’s meet them…

Dana, 24, from Stirlingshire

An organic livestock farmer and adrenaline junkie overseeing 1,500 acres, George’s passion for sustainability shapes everything he does.

Now settled into running the family farm, he admits it’s time to find a partner and start growing a family of his own.

Guy, 29, based in Wiltshire

Guy, a rugged suckler farmer, brings humour and heart, and jokes that the only girls in his life right now are his beloved cows…

But he’s ready to charm a very different kind of female.

Chris, 68, from Yorkshire

Finally, there’s proud Golden Bachelor Chris, who returned to the fields he loves after losing his wife to cancer three years ago.

Farming still brings him joy; now, he’s hoping to find someone new to share it with.

Speaking ahead of the show’s launch on ITV1 and ITVX, host Lisa said: ‘Farming is a way of life that requires resilience, patience, a lot of humour, and the same can be said for relationships.

‘What I love about Farming for Love is how real it is – there is no hiding or skiving on a farm, and that is what makes it such an honest way for people to get to know each other, which has had success around the world.

‘I am really looking forward to leading this flock in their search for romance.’

The Irish-born former actress and screenplay writer has been in a relationship with former Top Gear star Jeremy, 66, since 2017.

It’s believed they met at a party hosted by mutual friends, and what followed was a slow-burning courtship.

Speaking previously about their romance, Lisa, who appears in Clarkson’s Farm running the Diddly Squat farm shop near Chipping Norton in West Oxfordshire, said she initially knew of Jeremy through his writing, not his presenting.

Asked what he’s like off-camera, she told The Times: ‘He’s always incredibly inquisitive.

‘His mind is always on the move. He’ll come in fizzing with energy about the smallest thing. I like that.

‘I used to let my son stay up to watch Top Gear, but I never really watched it myself. I knew him more from his writing. I always loved his columns. I thought he was bright – and probably amusing. And I think he thought I’d be amusing.’
