Star Wars' latest era is officially ending in January 2027. Since its inception, Star Wars is a franchise that has constantly evolved through various eras. First, there was the era of Star Wars' original movies, running from 1977 to 1983. Then, in the late 90s and early-2000s, it became the era of the prequels. Despite recently undergoing a revisionist period, the initial reaction to the prequels as the worst-ranked Star Wars movies saw the franchise enter an era of silence, broken up solely by Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
