In a recent interview, Jamie Lee Curtis became emotional while discussing Charlie Kirk‘s death. Kirk died on September 10, 2025, after he was fatally shot while speaking at a campus event at Utah Valley University. Following his death, authorities went on a manhunt for his killer, eventually arresting the suspect, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson. Kirk’s demise sparked widespread outrage among the public and political figures, who condemned the killing.

What did Jamie Lee Curtis say about Charlie Kirk’s death?

Jamie Lee Curtis recently sat down for an interview where she brought up Charlie Kirk’s death. The discussion was taped two days after the deadly shooting that claimed the political activist’s life.

“I’m going to bring something up with you just because it’s front of mind,” she told WTF’s Marc Maron. The 66-year-old actress brought up Kirk but mispelled his last name as “Crist,” an error she attributed to the latter’s deep religious beliefs.

The Freakier Friday star shed tears as she continued to speak of Kirk. She noted that even though she disagreed with the things Kirk said, she acknowledged him as “a man of faith.” Further, Curtis expressed her hope that Kirk “felt connected with his faith” the moment he passed away.

She stated, “Even though his ideas were abhorrent to me. I still believe he’s a father and a husband and a man of faith. And I hope whatever connection to God means that he felt it.”

The Knives Out actress discussed how the day before the interview was 9/11 and talked about the September 11 attacks. “Yesterday was 9/11. I know there is a video of his assassination… we watched again these images of those buildings coming down,” she said.

Curtis explained that people nowadays are “bombarded with imagery,” because of which they don’t know “the longitudinal effects” of repeatedly seeing the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center crashing or Charlie Kirk getting shot. “I don’t ever want to see this footage of this man being shot,” she stressed.

The Oscar winner then went on to express her fear that people have become “inured” and “numb” to violent imagery. “We don’t know enough psychologically about what that does,” she said. “What does that do? Is that the case why we’re all feeling this lack of humanity, because we are just saturated with these images?” Curtis asked. (via Rolling Stone)
