The twist: Did Dak spit first? Veteran center Jason Kelce filled in with his take on the truth. “And Dak spits down the way toward the ground,” Kelce said. “But towards the Eagles with Carter, who had walked there. That starts the two’s interaction. Prescott’s spit was down.”
The manner in which Kelce recounted it, Prescott was not targeting Carter, but what he did might have triggered the fire. After that incident, emotions ran high. Carter, already agitated, construed it as disrespect and reacted in a manner that crossed the line.
Was Prescott careless, or was Carter too quick to react? The spotlight is now on the NFL’s handling of conduct standards. For now, Carter insists his focus is on regaining trust. “I’ve got to own up to it. It’s about controlling my emotions,” he said.
