Jake Paul is set to end a competitive hiatus, marking his return to professional boxing. The bout, which was officially announced by Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), serves as the launch of what Paul has described as the “next chapter” of his career following a significant medical recovery.
The return follows the longest layoff of Paul’s career, necessitated by a severe jaw injury sustained during his heavyweight loss to Anthony Joshua on December 19, 2025. During that sixth-round knockout defeat in Miami, Paul suffered a double fracture of the jaw that required two corrective surgeries. The first procedure took place shortly after the fight, while a second surgery was performed in February 2026 to install titanium plates and screws to stabilize the bone.
His professional record currently stands at 12-2, with his only other defeat coming against Tommy Fury in early 2023.
Paul underwent two surgeries to repair a double-fractured jaw sustained in late 2025.
While an opponent has not been officially named, the weight class for the return remains unconfirmed, though Paul has fluctuated between cruiserweight and heavyweight in his most recent outings.
Broadcast and Commercial Shifts
The upcoming event is expected to feature a departure from Paul’s recent broadcasting arrangements. While his previous major bouts, including the clash with Anthony Joshua, were headlined on Netflix, reports suggest the streaming giant is shifting its live sports strategy away from individual boxing spectacles of this nature. Analysts indicate the event may return to a more traditional pay-per-view model, potentially through platforms like DAZN, though an official broadcast partner has yet to be named by MVP.
The “next chapter” branding suggests a move toward more consistent activity after the recovery period.
