Is Facebook Running a Passkey Scam?

I have tried to go to Facebook on both my computer and my phone. Both are asking me to either use Passkey or click for another method of verification in order to verify my account. When I clicked for another method all I get is a BLANK screen. Okay, after a few tries I figured this would mean having to download another app but I did it just to get into Facebook.
