Sofia Coppola's Mother Shot a Never-Released 'Making Marie Antoinette' Doc. Now Mubi Is Putting It Out

In 2005, Sofia Coppola's mother Eleanor Coppola shot a behind-the-scenes documentary about the making of her (eventually) seminal film "Marie Antoinette," but it was never finished nor released. Now, after Sofia Coppola edited the 80 hours of footage according to her mother's wishes, Mubi will put "Making Marie Antoinette" out in the world. The distributor and streaming service has acquired worldwide rights to the documentary, which was shot by Eleanor Coppola and produced by Lorenzo Mieli, Mario Gianani, Rachel Dengiz, Youree Henley, and Sofia Coppola, Mubi announced on Wednesday. . . .
