Practical Magic 2’s Nicole Kidman Celebrates Filming Wrap With a Sweet BTS Video

Nicole Kidman shared a sweet video to announce that filming for Practical Magic 2 has wrapped up. Directed by Susanne Bier, it is a sequel to the 1998 movie of the same name and is scheduled to release on September 18, 2026. The film is based on the 2021 novel “The Book of Magic” by Alice Hoffman.

Kidman took to Instagram to share a sweet video featuring her and Sandra Bullock in a sunlit setting. In the clip, the duo can be seen holding hands, sharing laughs, and briefly hugging. They walk away from the camera toward the sunlight, with the breeze following them. Her caption read, “That’s a wrap on #PracticalMagic2! Thank you to the cast & crew for all your magic.”

Fans were happy to learn that production has concluded and took to her comment section to share excitement for the upcoming project. A fan said, “I CANNOT WAIT! In July 2025, Kidman shared a heartfelt video of her and Bullock from the sets of Practical Magic 2, announcing that filming had begun. Her caption read, “The witches are back. Owen’s sisters’ first day on set!”

In an interview with Variety, Kidman was asked about the plot for the upcoming sequel, back in 2024. She said, “You have to ask Sandy. We’ve been circling it for a while, but you know it’s still in [the early stages].” According to IMDb, the synopsis reads, “A multi-generational family of witches, cursed to be loveless for centuries, attempts to break the spell by confronting dark secrets and sacrificing for each other.” Other cast members joining Bullock and Kidman are Stockard Channing, Dianne Wiest, Joey King, Xolo Maridueña, Maisie Williams, Lee Pace, and Solly McLeod.
