Were it not for Josh Trank's ill-fated Fantastic Four reboot and George Miller's Mad Max: Fury Road — two movies on opposite ends of the critical spectrum — another 2015 movie would have dominated headlines for its troubled production. Fantastic Four was reworked in post-production, with new scenes added to water down the film's dour original tone. Trank infamously disowned the movie a day prior to its release. The movie was a colossal bomb, effectively poisoning the IP for years to come. On the other hand, Mad Max: Fury Road's on-set challenges led to a fallout between stars Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron. Even though the movie is now hailed as a masterpiece, it remains infamous for the trouble its crew went through. However, there is a third film in this small group that is usually overlooked when it comes to these discussions.
