After making her directorial debut last year with Blink Twice, Zoë Kravitz recently made her return to the big screen withDarren Aronofsky's latest film, Caught Stealing alongside Austin Butler. Known mostly for her film roles, including the most recent iteration of Selina Kyle in The Batman, Kravitz’s TV career is far more limited, but she gave one of her best performances five years ago in High Fidelity, Hulu’s TV adaptation of Nick Hornby’s 1995 novel of the same name. Two decades after High Fidelity was first adapted as a film starring John Cusack, Kravitz starred in (and executive produced) the gender-swapped romantic-comedy series, which changes the setting and updates the material to resonate with a new generation of music lovers. Kravitz was first introduced to High Fidelity through Stephen Frears’ 2000 film adaptation in which her mother, Lisa Bonet, played a supporting role. She fell further in love with the story after reading Hornby’s novel a few years later. Her passion for the material and the fresh perspective she brings to the character of Rob provide Kravitz with the perfect conditions to deliver what is arguably her strongest and most complex performance to date in this funny and bittersweet adult coming-of-age series.
