Another college football coach has been given the boot, joining the quickly growing list of dismissed personnel this season. Oklahoma State’s Mike Gundy has been fired after years as HC. The Cowboys’ top brass took the drastic step after they faced a disappointing 12-19 loss to Tulsa. Here’s a look at his buyout.

Gundy agreed to a restructured contract with Oklahoma State in 2024, which involved a pay cut. The new contract now states that if Gundy is fired without cause on or before December 31, 2027, his buyout is set at $15 million. This clause comes into play now that he is out. If he were fired without cause later, Gundy was owed $10 million.
The new contract was drafted after Mike Gundy failed to deliver in the least few years. His career worst came in 2024, finishing at 3-9. Gundy leaves Oklahoma State with a total record of 170-90. His departure marks the end of an era for the program.
This is a developing story…
