Horror Remakes Are Often Bad, but Chloë Grace Moretz Starred in One That’s a Must-See

15 years ago, Chloë Grace Moretz was an up-and-coming child star who was learning to weaponize her precociousness in unexpected ways. She played a comedically wise-beyond-her-years girl in (500) Days of Summer, but also more famously in her breakout role as Hit-Girl in Matthew Vaughn’s Kick-Ass. But Kick-Ass is a bit of a stinker, despite being a reasonable hit, and Moretz’s true breakout should’ve been in a superior movie that came out the same year: future The Batmandirector Matt Reeves’ wholly unnecessary (yet undeniably solid) remake of Swedish horror film Let the Right One In.
