Hollow Knight: Silksong Switch 2 Upgrade Pack Is Free

Team Cherry shared another Hollow Knight: Silksong update on its Kickstarter page, and it confirmed there will be a free Switch 2 upgrade pack for the game. This will be available for everyone who gets the Switch version of the game. However, its notice said that backers who choose that option will get a Switch code and need to grab the free patch for the new console’s update. 

The announcement noted that the Hollow Knight: Silksong Upgrade Pack for the Switch 2 will be in the eShop at launch.  It also mentioned “enhanced features” will be available if someone gets that patch. However, it didn’t explain how it will differ from the standard Switch release. 

In addition to the confirmation about an upgrade pack, Team Cherry did go over exact release times and costs for the game on social media. On September 4, 2025, it will be on digital storefronts at 7am PT/10am ET/4pm CET/11pm JST. It will cost $19.99/€19.99/¥2,300, so the price is about the same everywhere. That’s also when it will be on Xbox Game Pass, for those who subscribe to it.

Hollow Knight: Silksong will come to the Switch, Switch 2, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC on September 4, 2025, and it will also be on Xbox Game Pass on launch day.
