Hokum Hulu Streaming Release Date Set for Adam Scott’s Unsettling Horror Movie

Adam Scott’s Hokum now has a confirmed release date on Hulu for viewers waiting for the unsettling horror movie. The supernatural thriller will premiere on October 10, giving the film a new streaming home this fall.

The NEON film is directed by Damian McCarthy, who also helmed Caveat and Oddity. Scott leads the cast as novelist Ohm Bauman, alongside Peter Coonan, David Wilmot, Florence Ordesh, and Austin Amelio. McCarthy also wrote the film’s screenplay, which opened in theaters on May 1.

Hokum, an Ireland-United Arab Emirates co-production, premiered at the 2026 South by Southwest Film & TV Festival on March 14. The movie has a reported $5 million budget and runs for roughly 107 minutes, drawing heavily from Irish folklore.

Hokum follows Ohm Bauman as he travels to a remote Irish inn after his parents’ deaths. He arrives to scatter their ashes but becomes drawn into stories about a witch haunting the honeymoon suite. Hokum follows McCarthy’s earlier horror features. The film has also earned recognition from FANGORIA, including nominations for Best Lead Performance for Scott and Best Screenplay for McCarthy. The film will now arrive on Hulu several months after its theatrical run.
