The hit Netflix anime series Dan Da Dan has received an exciting update about its Season 3. Based on the namesake manga series written and illustrated by Yukinobu Tatsu and developed by Science Saru, Dan Da Dan premiered in Japan in 2024. The series became a massive success, and the second season debuted in 2025.
Dan Da Dan has been renewed for Season 3
Dan Da Dan has been renewed for Season 3, following the airing of the sophomore season finale in Japan. The anime’s official website and social media accounts have announced that Season 3 is now in production.
This follows the pattern set by the previous chapter. The announcement for the second season came after the first season finished airing. Besides Netflix, the anime also streams on Hulu and Crunchyroll and airs on Adult Swim in the US.
As one of the most popular anime shows of recent years, Dan Da Dan has garnered a massive audience. Its logline reads, “In a bet to prove whether ghosts or aliens exist, two high schoolers face terrifying paranormal threats, gain superpowers and maybe even fall in love?!”
Both Seasons 1 and 2 have 12 episodes each. The second season finale reportedly covers Chapters 69, 70, 71 (volume 9, Kaiju Arc) of the manga. As Tatsu’s source material is ongoing and currently has 20 volumes, there is a significant amount of content available for the upcoming Season 3.
The first two seasons of the show have the Japanese voice cast of Shion Wakayama as Momo Ayase, Natsuki Hanae as Ken Takakura / Okarun, Nana Mizuki as Seiko Ayase, Mayumi Tanaka as Turbo Granny, Ayane Sakura as Aira Shiratori, and more. It’s safe to assume that at least the majority of these voice cast members will return for Season 3.
