Well, there you have it. We've officially got confirmation that the HBO Harry Potter series is going to be adapting the JK Rowling novels in far more depth than the films ever did. Leaks from the set in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire, have unveiled scenes being shot in the very early 1980s. Now, why does this matter? Well, the Potter novels take place in the 1990s — 1991 through to 1998, to be precise — and the initial photos from the on-location shooting featuring Dominic McLaughlin and Nick Frost as Harry Potter and Rubeus Hagrid revealed a world that appeared to be set in the early 1990s.
