Here’s everything you need to know.
Has Peacock canceled The Paper or renewed it for Season 2?
Peacock officially renewed The Paper for Season 2.
The Paper serves as the spin-off series to the popular NBC hit The Office. A day ahead of its debut, leading stars Domhnall Gleeson and Sabrina Impacciatore revealed that the series will return with another season during their interview on NBC’s Today Show. The show premiered on Thursday, September 4, 2025, with all ten episodes available for streaming on Peacock.
In a recent interview with Variety, series co-creator Greg Daniels offered a glimpse into his vision for Season 2 and how he plans on expanding The Office universe.
“We definitely have ideas. We’ve been talking about stories for a possible Season 2, and it’ll be interesting to see what the audience thinks,” Daniels began. “We’ve gotten really good feedback from people inside the company and journalists and friends, but you never know what the broader world of ‘Office’ fans are going to think of it,” the creator of The Office added.
The release window for The Paper Season 2 remains under wraps. However, given its early renewal, it is speculated that the show might return late next year. Of course, the wait continues for an official confirmation from Peacock.
The Paper is a mockumentary sitcom series created in the vein of its predecessor. This time, the focus shifts to the staff of a newspaper company in Toledo, Ohio, named Toledo Truth-Teller. The documentary crew follows the workers at this historic Midwestern company as it tries to stay afloat. The series stars Domhnall Gleeson, Sabrina Impacciatore, Chelsea Frei, Melvin Gregg, and more.
