Han Solo Actor Says He’ll Return To Star Wars on 1 Condition

Even though it’s been more than seven years since fans saw a young version of Han Solo, Alden Ehrenreich, who played the character in Solo: A Star Wars Story, has said he could reprise the role in the future. In a recent interview, Ehrenreich revealed that he is open to returning to the iconic role once again, albeit under one specific condition.

While speaking with Collider‘s Robert Brian Taylor, Ehrenreich noted he would return to the Star Wars franchise as Han Solo, provided that he gets to portray the “right version” of the character.

“It would have to really, really be the right version of it,” the Ironheart star said of his potential return to Star Wars.

Ehrenreich first stepped into the role of Han Solo in 2018’s Solo: A Star Wars Story, which showed the origin story of the fan-favorite character. While many fans praised his performance as Han Solo, the movie was a financial failure for Disney and Lucasfilm, only making $393 million worldwide during its theatrical run.

Talking about the troubled production of the Han Solo Star Wars spin-off, the 35-year-old actor stated, “Making a movie is stressful no matter what. Your job as an actor, in a way, is to use the energy that’s happening [around you]. And sometimes that energy involves stress, but characters are under stress. There are very few characters who are just having a ball. So it’s contributive sometimes. As long as it’s an environment where people feel safe.”

Despite Solo’s underwhelming box office performance, Ehrenreich highlighted that it did help him secure high-profile roles in the aftermath of its run. “It set the stage for a lot of things that I get to do now,” he said, before adding, “It’s a great platform, and there were some really great times during it. And I’m happy I get to do what I do now.”
