Hamilton Musical Release Date Announced for Stunning 4K UHD Blu-ray, Has New Footage

Fans of Hamilton will soon get a brand-new way to experience the award-winning production at home. The Walt Disney Company has officially announced that the groundbreaking musical is finally getting a 4K UHD Blu-ray Collector’s Edition release, giving audiences the chance to revisit the Broadway phenomenon in upgraded picture and sound quality.

Even better, the upcoming home release will include never-before-seen footage, a brand-new documentary, and exclusive bonus content, making it a must-have for longtime fans of the Lin-Manuel Miranda musical.

When is Hamilton being released on 4K UHD Blu-ray?

For the first time, a filmed version of Hamilton will be released on 4K UHD Blu-ray on June 16, 2026. It combines the best elements of live theater, film, and streaming in an astounding blend of hip-hop, jazz, R&B, and Broadway. Presenting the tale of American Founding Father Alexander Hamilton, this revolutionary moment in theater is the story of America then, told by America now.

Filmed at the Richard Rodgers Theatre on Broadway in June of 2016, the film is intended to transport its audience into the world of Broadway in a uniquely intimate manner.

Speaking of the Collector’s Edition, it consists of new footage and an all-new documentary titled Spark into a Flame: Hamilton & Hip-Hop. It offers a closer look at the unexpected and revolutionary connection between the Broadway sensation, the hip-hop roots that inspired it, and The Hamilton Mixtape that followed.

The documentary features the voices of Hamilton writer, performer, and creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, as well as artists and music icons Busta Rhymes, Nas, Questlove, Black Thought, Angie Martinez, Common, Dessa, Residente, and more.

While the musical has entertained fans for over a decade, the viewing experience will feel even more immersive with stunning Dolby Vision 4K picture quality and Dolby Atmos audio.

In addition to the Broadway production in 4K and the documentary, the Collector’s Edition includes a sing-along version and the Reuniting the Revolution featurette. Not to mention the memorabilia, including a fabric poster, a set of collectible art cards, and a booklet of Alexander Hamilton lyrics and piano sheet music.
