Godzilla Officially Returns to Theaters in One Week

2026 has already been an elite year for sci-fi movies, but some of the most anticipated films of the year are still set to be released in the final two months. One of the biggest whales on the schedule is Dune: Part Three, which is opening in theaters on December 18. The film is going to be released on the same day asAvengers: Doomsday, which, while mostly lobbied as an MCU/superhero movie, could still be considered sci-fi. Anya Taylor-Joy led one of the highest-grossing sci-fi blockbusters of the year with The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, which may be animated but still has all the elements of classic sci-fi. Ridley Scott even returned to the sci-fi genre with the release of The Dog Stars, but the film struggled at the box office.
